Frederick Spurgin (1882–1966) was a prolific British illustrator, particularly of postcards.
He was born Izydor Spungin, probably in what is now Latvia in 1882, when it was part of the Russian Empire.[1] In about 1895, his family emigrated to London, England, where they lived in Brixton.
In 1921, he married Lily Rothman, the daughter of Louis Rothman, founder of the cigarette company, but she died in a railway accident.
