Draft:Frootbat
Submission declined on 10 June 2025 by Bonadea (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies.

Frootbat is an award-winning [1] online marketplace that facilitates the delivery and shipping of premium and luxury liquor, with a focus on bourbon and whiskey, from licensed liquor stores within the United States.[2]
Due to licensing and legislative restrictions, Frootbat operates solely as a marketplace in the United States; however, in Asian and European markets, it functions as a hybrid marketplace with both DTC (Direct to Consumer) and marketplace capabilities.[3][4]
History and timeline
[edit]Inspired by the bourbon boom in the early to mid 2010's [5], Frootbat's e-commerce website was launched in 2017[6] as an answer to increased demand and shortened supply of allocated whiskey [6], providing a means to democratizing access to these products.
Today, Frootbat is one of few marketplaces specializing in the secondary supply of fine, rare, and hard-to-find bourbon and whiskey. [7]
San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2024 Gold Medal
[edit]In 2024, Frootbat entered the inaugural single-barrel club category at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Their entry, an Elijah Craig Single Barrel Strength Bourbon Whiskey titled 'Raiders of the Lost Oak' was awarded a Gold Medal in its category and received a score of 90/100. [8] [9]
