Heidi is a UK-based ski holiday online booking platform that uses travel technology to offer customisable ski holidays. It is currently the UK’s third-largest ski holiday operator.[1]
History
[edit]The company was founded in 2018 by brothers Marcus Blunt and Alexander Blunt in Bristol, England under the original name Ski Zoom.[2] It was created was to provide a booking experience that makes skiing holidays more affordable, flexible and accessible. [3]
The company rebranded to Heidi and bought the heidi.com domain name from the defunct Swiss fashion company (named heidi.com) in 2021.
Heidi was ranked 63rd in the 2024 edition of The Sunday Times 100 list of the UK’s fastest-growing private companies. [4]
In 2024, Heidi secured £5.6 million investment to accelerate growth, further enhance its platform, and create new jobs.[5] Mercia Ventures led the funding round with participation from Active Partners and private investors.[6]
In February 2024, Heidi made national headlines with a £78pp ski holiday deal, reported by The Times newspaper. [7]
Services
[edit]Heidi’s proprietary travel technology aggregates flights, accommodation and transfer options into one online platform, allowing users to search thousands of packages from a choice of over 300 ski resorts across Europe and over 5,000 accommodation options. ATOL protection is included in all Heidi holiday packages. [8]
Heidi offers low-deposit bookings, a monthly payment plan, and 24/7customer support. Heidi is rated as ‘Excellent’ on Trustpilot, where it has over 3,700 customer service reviews. [9]
Heidi has search filters to find ski resorts based on criteria or preferences such as difficulty level, family-friendly facilities, short airport transfer times, and snow conditions. Customers can tailor the duration of their ski holiday and add extras to their booking, such as lift passes, lessons and ski gear hire. There is also the ability to book group holidays that allow customers to fly from different locations. [10]
