I Died in Irpin is a Czech short film, directed by Anastasiia Falileieva and released in 2024.[1] [2]The film, in which the protagonist and her boyfriend flee from Kyiv to Irpin following the Russian invasion, is a powerful and sobering evocation of survival as people try to rationalise the horror of the reality they face.[3]
The film premiered at the 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival.[4] [5]It was later screened at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, where it won the award for the Best Animation Award. [3]
