Maser Technology (also known as SSMEDWORLD) is an India-based medical equipment manufacturing company headquartered in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The company specializes in the design and production of medical sterilization systems, hospital infrastructure, and diagnostic equipment. Maser Technology gained national attention during the COVID-19 pandemic for its innovative disinfection machine developed in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR-IITR).
History
[edit]Maser Technology was established with a mission to provide cost-effective and sustainable healthcare solutions, particularly for developing healthcare markets. The company operates under the brand name SSMEDWORLD, offering a range of hospital and medical supplies, including ICU equipment, diagnostic tools, and biomedical waste management systems.
Innovation During COVID-19
[edit]In June 2020, Maser Technology, in partnership with CSIR-IITR, developed a microwave-based disinfection system named OptiMaser. The machine was designed to decontaminate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits and N95 masks, allowing them to be reused up to 20 times.[1]
The innovation was positively reviewed by institutions like AIIMS Jodhpur and SGPGI Lucknow, and was recognized by several national media outlets as a significant step toward reducing biomedical waste and lowering the cost of protective gear during the pandemic.[2][3]
Recognition
[edit]The OptiMaser project received praise from public figures and government officials, including the then Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, and was featured in the official social media handle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio program Mann Ki Baat.[4][5]
Products and Services
[edit]Maser Technology’s broader portfolio includes:
- Disinfection and sterilization equipment
- Hospital beds and medical furniture
- Patient monitoring systems
- Diagnostic instruments
- Biomedical waste management solutions
The company markets its products primarily under the name SSMEDWORLD. Its solutions are used in hospitals, diagnostic labs, and government healthcare projects across India.
