Hyun-Woo Jun
[edit]Hyun-Woo Jun is a South Korean cricketer and the captain of the national team. He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for South Korea against Indonesia on 9 October 2022, following South Korea's acquisition of T20I status in 2019.[1]
Prior to his official T20I debut, Jun represented South Korea in international competitions such as the 2016 East Asia Cup, where he played against the Hong Kong Dragons on 3 November 2016. Although the match was not officially classified as a T20I, it marked one of Jun’s earliest appearances on the international stage.[2]
Jun helped South Korea win the 2016 East Asia Cup tournament.[3] He also played in the 2018 edition of the East Asia Cup.[4]
In addition to regional competitions, Jun represented South Korea at the 2018 ICC World T20 East Asia-Pacific Qualifier B tournament. The team finished second and narrowly missed qualifying for the next round.[5]
Jun is recognized as one of the leading figures in Korean cricket, helping promote and develop the sport in a country where cricket remains a growing discipline.
