Kalpathy Sports Fest

Kalpathy Sports Fest^[1] is an annual sports event held in the serene village of Kalpathy, Palakkad in the Indian state of Kerala.

Celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship and community, the event is organised by the Kalpathy Youngsters Sabha and features a wide array of competitions, including football, cricket, carroms and more. Participants from across the village gather to showcase their skills in an electrifying atmosphere of camaraderie and excitement.

The event caters to athletes of all ages and skill levels, fostering healthy competition and teamwork. The event consists of tournaments of football and cricket for men, and a Maakolam competition for women. U-17 events are held separately. Carroms and chess tournaments are also held for men and women. Children also participated in the event playing lemon spoon, etc.

Winners in each category are rewarded with trophies and certificates, honoring their dedication and talent. Beyond sports, the event serves as a vibrant platform for locals to connect and celebrate Kalpathy's rich cultural heritage.

2024 Season

The 2024 edition was promoted by notable Indian public figures such as Mohanlal, P.T. Usha & Murali Sreeshankar.

The football tournament had 5 teams, namely Warriors FC, Riverside United FC, Sentinels FC, Nomads FC & Shaolin Soccer FC out of which Riverside United triumphed in a penalty shootout in the final against Warriors FC.

The cricket tournament consisted of 6 teams: Chariot Chargers, Shakthi Sena, Mighty Titans, Cobras, Pookie Blinders & Heritage Hawks, out of which Cobras emerged as the winner.
