Lena Merhej is a German-Lebanese artist. A designer by training, she studied at the American University in Beirut and the Parsons School of Design. She then completed her doctorate on Lebanese comics from Jacobs University in Germany.[1][2]
She has worked prolifically as a children's book illustrator and comicbook artist, and won many awards for her work. She is co-founder of the Samandal collective of Lebanese comic artists. Her graphic novel Yoghurt and Jam was nominated for the Banipal Prize.[3][4]
