Mixed martial arts record from Sherdog |
Mario Pinto is a Portuguese mixed martial artist competing in the heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).[1] Known for his striking prowess and composure under pressure, Pinto remains undefeated in professional MMA, with notable victories across various promotions, including the Levels Fight League (LFL) and Dana White's Contender Series.
Early Life and Background
[edit]Born on March 14, 1998, in Lisbon, Portugal, Pinto began his martial arts journey in his early teens. Seeking advanced training opportunities, he later moved to London, England, where he trained at FightZone London under coach Stuart Austin.[2]
Levels Fight League (LFL)
[edit]Pinto's breakthrough came in the LFL, where he participated in the Heavyweight Grand Prix. He secured victories over Filip Bradaric, Aladin Ben Halima, and Moreno Kacapor, all by knockout or unanimous decision.[3]
Dana White's Contender Series
[edit]On October 8, 2024, Pinto appeared on Dana White's Contender Series, defeating Lucas Camacho by knockout in the first round at 1:43.
UFC Debut
[edit]Pinto made his UFC debut on March 1, 2025, at UFC Fight Night: Kape vs. Almabayev. He faced Austen Lane, defeating him by knockout in the second round at 0:39.[4] Despite being knocked down early, Pinto rebounded with a right hook. Speaking to The Independent after the fight, Pinto summed it up as “bing, bang, bosh,”.[5] Despite earning a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus, Pinto was self-critical of his performance, describing it as "absolutely trash" due to pre-fight jitters and a delayed start.[6][7][8][9][10][11]
Fight Record
[edit]As of March 2025, Pinto holds an undefeated professional MMA record of 10 wins, 0 losses, and 0 draws.
