Mark Swallow was born in 1963 in the United Kingdom. After studying History at Oxford University, he trained with the Gloucestershire Echo (now Gloucestershire Live) as a journalist. He has travelled and worked in India and China but now resides as a teacher in Bristol, England. He now lives with his wife and son.[1]

Swallow is the author of one published book, Zero Per Cent, which was published by Harper Collins Publishers on the 17th of March 2016. The book follows the life of Jack Curling as he navigates secondary school life from ages 11 to 15 while taking Business Studies GCSE. Swallow describes Jack as an "entrepreneur and wheeler dealer" who wishes to run his life on his own terms.[2] The book is targeted at age 13+ and has received a very positive reading[3] from audiences.
