Submission declined on 23 May 2025 by SafariScribe (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. Declined by SafariScribe 35 days ago. | ![]() |
Comment: The subject is arguably notable enough, but sourcing is extremely poor. The majority of references lead to the subject's own website, social media such as facebook and Niconico Douga, blogs or other forms of user-generated content. The use of these should be avoided if possible, specially social media and personal websites. These also don't serve to establish notability. Please add substantial, independent and reliable sources. Early Life
[edit]Mitchie M started learning piano at age six. He went to high school at Wako International High School (埼玉県立和光国際高等学校), and during this time, he played in bands and developed an interest for desktop music (DTM), and began to study music production and music theory.[1] Eventually, he went to college and majored in mechanical engineering, but decided that he wasn't good enough for it and went into the music industry, and got his start in the industry by using his older brother's computer to create songs.[4] He first got introduced to Vocaloid through an advertisement for the vocaloid Meiko, though he thought it would be too difficult to implement into a song and that the voice would sound too robotic, but that the software could be used for parts such as choruses and simple parts.[5] In 2011, due to the effects of the Lehman Shock and the Great East Japan Earthquake, trying to find commissions and creating music became difficult, and because of this, Mitchie M had decided to try vocaloid.[4] He originally debated on Hatsune Miku and Megurine Luka, but ultimately ended up picking Hatsune Miku because of her popularity, but he thought Megurine Luka fit his style better.[5]
Career
[edit]On July 15, 2011, Mitchie M uploaded his first song to the Japanese video-sharing website Niconico Douga titled cosmic ballad, which stated in the description to be a practice piece and an attempt to make the Vocaloid Hatsune Miku sing realistically. Later, on July 31st, he uploaded his second song FREELY TOMMOROW, which when released became the fastest vocaloid song to reach one million views on Niconico, taking only 20 days, 6 hours, and four minutes (the fastest record at the time).[1] Since then, he has released the albums Greatest Idol (グレイテスト・アイドル) (2013) under Sony Music Japan and Virtual Popstar (バーチャル・ポップスター) (2019) under Warner Music Japan. He has worked with Crypton Future Media for multiple projects and collabs such as their Gundam collab and Project Voltage, and has made multiple songs for advertisements. He has also wrote and produced the song All Night Radio by Japanese singer Ado.[6]
Realistic tuning
[edit]Mitchie M's is best known for his "god-like" or "divine" tuning[according to whom?][1] of the vocaloid Hatsune Miku. He recognized that Hatsune Miku struggled with her low-notes and did better on the high notes, so he tweaked his songs to better fit her "vocal range." In an interview, he has stated that he doesn't like how Hatsune Miku still struggles with the pronunciation of things such as her "oh" sound, so he does in and tweaks it each time. He mainly focuses on voice editing when it comes to vocaloid, and after he's done making the vocaloid vocals on a track, he then goes into pitch correction and noise processing apps to make Hatsune Miku sound more realistic, but that 70%-80% of the voice editing happens within the vocaloid editing software itself. His main preference for the Hatsune Miku voicebank is VY1.[5]
Personal life
[edit]Mitchie M rarely shows up in public, and keeps his identity anonymous.[1] In his free time, Mitchie M likes to bike and go mountain climbing. He also reviews things such as guitars, camera equipment, and other pieces of technology. He also has tutorials on things such as replacing guitar pickguard, building a power strip, and other guitar and technology related things. His favorite Vocaloid work is the Defense Girl Sowaka-chan series by kihirohito.[7]
