During the 1940s, he played as a forward for Espérance Sportive de Tunis, finishing as the top scorer of the 1941–42 Tunisian League.

He contributed to the establishment of the Tunisian Rugby Federation on 14 November 1970 and served as its vice-president. He later presided over Espérance Sportive de Tunis during the 1985-1986 season, a period in which the club won the 1985–86 Tunisian Cup.

A trained pharmacist, Zouhir played a key role in founding the Tunisian Order of Pharmacists following independence in July 1960, where he was elected as an assessor[3].

In 1970, he founded the Sancella Tunisie [4] (Tunisian Society of Dressings), specializing in the production of absorbent cotton, sterile gauze compresses, and bandages[5]

In 1978, he expanded SOTUPA to include a paper production division manufacturing tissues, sanitary towels, and toilet rolls. The company later began producing diapers under a licensing agreement with the French brand Peaudouce in 1988 and the feminine hygiene line Nana in 1994. In 1995, he handed over SOTUPA’s management to his son, Aziz.
