Eur Ing Muthu Singaram (born January 7, 1965) is a entrepreneur, engineer, and academic specializing in technology commercialization and entrepreneurship. He is the CEO of the Healthcare Technology Innovation Centre (HTIC) at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) and the founder of VibaZone, a company focused on business incubation and innovation.

Early Life and Education

Singaram earned a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics from the University of Ulster, United Kingdom, in 1990. He later completed a Master of Business Administration from Multimedia University, Malaysia, in 2002. In 2022, he received a Ph.D. from IIT Madras, with research focused on technology commercialization.

He is a Chartered Electrical Engineer and a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK. He is also recognized as a Chartered Engineer by the Engineering Council (UK) and as a European Engineer by the European Federation of National Engineering Associations.

Career

Singaram has worked in engineering, management, and entrepreneurship for over 30 years. He was previously the Project Director at British Telecom’s Asian Research Center, where his team was involved in patent filings and research publications.

In Malaysia, he contributed to the National Unipreneur Development Programme (NUDP) at the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC) and served on the National Incubator Network. He has provided mentorship and consulting services to corporations and organizations, including the Institute of Public Administration Malaysia, the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers, Shell, ExxonMobil, and DHL.
