Prashant Madanmohan (born 31 July 1985), known by his pen-name Dr Leander, is an Indian orthopaedic surgeon, author, and cultural curator. He founded the cultural platform Cognishift.org to promote cross-disciplinary dialogue among medicine, philosophy, and the arts.[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Prashant Madanmohan was born in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu in 1985. He received his MBBS and MD from Yerevan State Medical University, Armenia, followed by internship and specialist training in orthopaedics at Madras Medical College and the Diplomate of National Board program in Chennai.
Medical career
[edit]Since 2002, Madanmohan has practiced medicine in Chennai, and from 2009 as an orthopaedic surgeon. He is registered with the National Medical Commission of India.[2]
Cultural and literary work
[edit]Prashant Madanmohan writes under the pseudonym Dr Leander and has authored:
- The Monk With A Stethoscope (2023), a philosophical memoir.
- Armenian Spiritual Sanctuaries, detailing lost monasteries encyclopedic work, honoured at Indian Embassy in Yerevan.[3]
- Armenian Legacy In India (2024), felicitated by Avetik Isahakyan Central cultural Centre, Armenia.[4]
- The God of Deserted Memories (2025), a novel exploring Franco-Armenian-Indian cultural legacies. Its launch at Chennai’s Lalit Kala Akademi was covered by *Business Standard* and *ThePrint* and praised by the French and Armenian diplomatic missions.[5][6]
