Rui Tabuchi (田淵 累生, Tabuchi Rui, born September 12, 1995 in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan)[5] is a Japanese actor and former idol. He grew up in Ishikawa Prefecture and moved to Tokyo to attend university. He was previously affiliated with VOYZ ENTERTAINMENT[6] and is now working as a freelance actor[7]. He is a former member of the idol groups High School Children and VOYZ BOY.

He is known for his role as Dazai Osamu in the Bungō Stray Dogs Stage and Izuminokami Kanesada in the Touken Ranbu Stage productions. During his elementary and junior high school years, he played basketball at a competitive level and participated in national competitions[8][9].

Early Career

In 2016, during his time at university, he took part in a campus beauty contest, Mr & Miss Chuo 2016[10], and won the Grand Prix title[11]. He then went on to compete in national, Mr of Mr 2017[12], securing second place[13][14]. As a result, he received multiple offers for modeling opportunities[15].

In 2018, Tabuchi declined a job offer to participate in the voice actor audition program Kimimote Lodge produced by Yasushi Akimoto. After winning the audition, he debuted as a member of High School Children on October 5, 2018, alongside Hiroki Ishibashi, Keito Takahashi, Rikiya Tomizono, and Tomoya Fukui.

In 2019, he began his acting career, appearing in the stage play Kamen Rider Zangetsu - Gaim Gaiden[16]. In May of the same year, it was announced that he had joined VOYZ ENTERTAINMENT, becoming a member of the group VOYZ BOY in June[6].

Recent Career

On November 30, 2021, Tabuchi announced his graduation from VOYZ ENTERTAINMENT[7]. With his departure, he graduated from VOYZ BOY, and High School Children subsequently disbanded. Currently, Tabuchi is working as a freelance actor[17]
