Steven Duplij, Stepan Douplii (born 29 August 1954 in Chernyshevsk, Chita Region, Siberia, USSR) is a theoretical and mathematical physicist, poet and musician. He is an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow and Fulbright Scholar, and a member of several scientific and literary societies. He currently works as a Lead Scientific Researcher at the Center of Information Technology (CIT), University of Münster, Münster, Germany.
Education and work
[edit]Duplij studied at Kharkov State University (Ukrainian SSR), in the Department of Theoretical Radiophysics and Department of Theoretical Physics, where he obtained his Ph.D. in 1983. His Habilitation Thesis (Doctor of Science in Physics and Mathematics) was defended in 1999 at the Bogolyubov Institute of Theoretical Physics (Kiev, Ukraine). He also completed a musical school on bayan (button accordion) and piano. Duplij worked as Scientific Researcher at the Nuclear Physics Laboratory, Kharkov National University (Ukraine) 1977-2014, and then until now at the University of Münster, Germany.
Academic Career
[edit]Duplij has held various academic positions throughout his career. He served as a Lead Senior Staff Researcher at the Nuclear Physics Laboratory of Kharkov National University from 2000 to 2014 and later joined the University of Münster in 2018. His research interests include quantum computing, mathematical physics, and DNA structure.
