Ledda earned the French agrégation in modern literature in 1996. He defended his doctoral dissertation at the University of Nantes in 2006, titled La Représentation de la mort sur la scène romantique (1827–1835). In 2010, he obtained his habilitation (HDR) at Paris-Sorbonne University with a study focused on themes of death and fantasy in the works of Alfred de Musset.[1]

From 2007 to 2011, Ledda was a lecturer at the University of Rouen. He then served as a professor at the University of Nantes from 2011 to 2013, before returning to Rouen. Since 2013, he has held a full professorship in 19th-century French literature at the University of Rouen Normandy. Research

[edit]

Ledda’s research focuses on the interconnection between literature, theater, and cultural history during the Romantic era, particularly in 19th-century France. He has written extensively on Alfred de Musset, including biographical and thematic studies that explore death, melancholy, fantasy, and theatrical aesthetics.

His work also examines literary portrayals of death, inter-artistic relationships between literature, music, and the visual arts, and political memory in literature. His studies have been cited in scholarly sources such as the journal Romantisme.[3] He has contributed to research on Franco-Italian cultural exchange and 19th-century dramatic literature.
