TechnoS Instruments is an Indian company specializing in advanced materials processing and characterization technologies, with a particular focus on Raman spectroscopy solutions. Founded in 2006 by alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, the company operates in both domestic and international markets, providing scientific instruments for research, quality control, and industrial applications.[1]

History

[edit]

TechnoS Instruments was established in 2006 with the aim of indigenizing high-end scientific instrumentation in India. The company began by offering solutions in laser-based characterization and later diversified into Raman Spectroscopy,[2] which became its core area of expertise. In 2022, TechnoS partnered with Council of Scientific and Industrial Research CSIR-AMPRI Bhopal to develop the CTR-Series of Raman spectrometers,[3] which are now installed in various laboratories and research institutes across India.[4] [5]

Products and Technology

[edit]

TechnoS Instruments designs and manufactures a wide range of Raman spectrometers, including:

  • IndiRAM Handheld Raman Spectrometer
  • IndiRAM Portable Raman System
  • CTR-Series Research-Grade Raman Spectrometers

These systems are used for applications in pharmaceutical analysis, Forensic Science, environmental monitoring, Material Science, Gemology, Nanotechnology, and food safety. TechnoS instruments are known for their modular design, user-friendly software, and high customization capabilities to suit specific user requirements.[6][7]

Leadership Research and Development

[edit]

The company places a strong emphasis on R&D, focusing on innovations in optical spectroscopy, laser integration, and portable analysis systems. Its solutions are often used in both academic and industrial research.[8]

TechnoS Instruments is led by Dr. Tarun Sharda, a scientist and entrepreneur with expertise in CVD diamond manufacturing and Raman spectroscopy. He is also involved in various initiatives promoting the use of spectroscopy in scientific and industrial applications in India.[9]
