Tuhin Kanta Pandey (8 July 1965) is an Indian Administrative Service service officer of the 1987 batch from the Odisha cadre. He is serving as the 11th Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India, having assumed office on February 27, 2025 succeeding Madhabi Puri Buch. In his previous assignments, Pandey served as the Finance Secretary, Revenue Secretary, and Secretary of the Department of Public Enterprises, and the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. He also held the position of Secretary in the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, where he was responsible for overseeing the country’s taxation policies. Prior to these roles, he served in various senior positions in the Government of Odisha, including Managing Director of the Odisha State Finance Corporation and the Odisha Small Industries Corporation, as well as Collector of Sambalpur District.[1]

Tuhin Kanta Pandey was born on 8 July 1965 in the state of Odisha India. He holds a Msc degree in Economics from Panjab University, Chandigarh, and an MBA from the University of Birmingham, UK.

Chairman of SEBI

Pandey was appointed as the Chairman of SEBI on February 27, 2025, succeeding Madhabi Puri Buch.
