Comment: Lack of WP:SIGCOV in the sources provided. The article itself does not show notability through the text, either. Rambley (talk) 19:11, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
Wave from the WOOniverse is the posthumous double album from Parliament-Funkadelic keyboardist and de facto Talking Heads member, funk legend Bernie Worrell.[1][2][3] Released in 2024, initially on vinyl for Record Store Day, the double album uses unfinished and previously unrelased tracks the Worrell estate uncovered.[4][5]
Produced by former Bernie Worrell Orchestra bandleader and longtime collaborator Evan Taylor; the album, which Flood Magazine described as a collection of“dirtbag-funky tracks and mesmerizing ballads,”[6] was the brainchild of Worrell's widow Judie Worrell, who serves as the project's executive producer.[7] The double album includes contributions from many of Worrell's friends and former collaborators, including Bootsy Collins (P-Funk, James Brown) Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads), Fred Schneider (The B-52s), Leo Nocentelli (The Meters), Mark Ribot, Sean Ono-Lennon, Money Mark, Norwood Fisher (Fishbone), Mike Watt (Minutemen, The Stooges) and Miho Hatori (Cibo Matto).[8][9][10][11][12][13][14]
Worrell first met Taylor in 2010, when Taylor approached him about doing an album of "funkadized" versions of jazz standards.[15][16] Taylor was only 23 at the time. That resulted in the two of them co-producing Standards (2011)[17][18] and eventually to the formation of the 9-piece Bernie Worrell Orchestra, which toured until 2015. The band released two EPs during it's run: BWO is Landing (2013)[19]and Prequel (2014).
