Werwulf is an upcoming American horror film co-written and directed by Robert Eggers. It is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 25, 2026.
Production
[edit]In January 2025, it was announced that a horror film written and directed by Robert Eggers titled Werwulf was in development, which was co-written by Sjón. The film would be set in 13th century England, and would feature Old English.[1] Eggers went on to say that Werwulf was the darkest script he had ever written.[2]
Filming
[edit]Jarin Blaschke serves as the cinematographer, after previously working with Eggers on multiple films.[3] Filming is planned for late 2025.[4]
Release
[edit]Werwulf is scheduled to be released in the United States by Focus Features on December 25, 2026.[1]
