Draft:Winfried Bullinger
Submission declined on 21 June 2025 by Cabrils (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Comment: Well done on creating the draft, and it may potentially meet the relevant requirements (including WP:GNG, WP:ANYBIO, WP:CREATIVE) but presently it is not clear that it does. As other reviewers have noted, entry is that the subject is notable. Essentially subjects are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. To properly create such a draft page, please see the articles ‘Your First Article’, ‘Referencing for Beginners’ and ‘Easier Referencing for Beginners’. Please note that to establish notability, the draft requires reliable sources about the subject, rather than by the subject. Also, if you have any connection to the subject, including being the subject (see WP:AUTOBIO) or being paid, you have a conflict of interest that you must declare on your Talk page (to see instructions on how to do this please click the link). Please familiarise yourself with these pages before amending the draft. If you feel you can meet these requirements, then please make the necessary amendments before resubmitting the page. It would help our volunteer reviewers by identifying, on the draft's talk page, the WP:THREE best sources that establish notability of the subject. It would also be helpful if you could please identify with specificity, exactly which criteria you believe the page meets (eg "I think the page now meets WP:ANYBIO criteria #3, because XXXXX"). Once you have implemented these suggestions, you may also wish to leave a note for me on my talk page and I would be happy to reassess. Cabrils (talk) 01:33, 21 June 2025 (UTC)

Winfried Bullinger
[edit]Winfried Bullinger (born 1965 in Munich, Germany) is a German lawyer and photographer. He is known for his expertise in copyright and media law, as well as for his documentary photography focusing in particular on vernacular architecture and portraits in Africa.[1]
Education and Career
[edit]Bullinger studied law at the Free University of Berlin and art at the Berlin University of the Arts. He also spent a year at the University of Cape Town. He received his doctorate from Humboldt University of Berlin with a dissertation on art forgery and copyright law.[2]
He has been a partner at the international law firm CMS in Berlin since 2002.[3] In 2003, he was appointed honorary professor at the Brandenburg University of Technology.[4]
Photography and Projects
[edit]In addition to his legal work, Bullinger is an active photographer. His long-term projects document traditional forms of housing and community among pastoralist and nomadic societies in Africa. His portrait and architectural photography has been shown in numerous exhibitions and discussed in the German press, including by the Süddeutsche Zeitung, which emphasized the dignified self-presentation of his subjects.[1]
In 2025, he launched the online archive Self Contained: Internet Archive on Vernacular Architecture in Africa.[5] His publication Pastoralist Homes[6] received critical attention in the March 2025 issue of PHOTONEWS,[7] highlighting his approach within the context of contemporary documentary photography.
