"Mr. Carter fished bigger water, the upper reaches of the Delaware River, the afternoon of his first full day in the Catskills, and his catch included a rainbow of 15 or 16 inches. His guide for that trip was Ed Van Put of Livingston Manor, N.Y., a superb fly fisherman who first introduced this writer to that river's big rainbows more than a decade ago. 'Mr. Carter made my guiding easy,' said Mr. Van Put."
