Fardis (Persian: فردیس) is a city in the Central District of Fardis County, Alborz province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[3]
History
[edit]In 2010, Karaj County was separated from Tehran province in the establishment of Alborz province.[4]
In 2013, the city of Meshkin Dasht, the Fardis neighborhood of the city of Karaj, and other parts were separated from the county in the establishment of Fardis County. Fardis was transferred to the new Central District as the county's capital, and elevated to the status of a city.[3]

[edit]At the time of the 2016 National Census, the city's population was 181,174 people in 58,953 households.[2]
