Good Night, and Good Luck is an upcoming historical drama play written by George Clooney and Grant Heslov. It is adapted from Clooney's 2005 film Good Night, and Good Luck and based on the news career of Edward R. Murrow. Its Broadway premiere in March 2025 directed by David Cromer will star Clooney as Murrow.[1][2] It is Clooney's first role on stage since the 1986 American play Vicious about the life of Sex Pistols musician Sid Vicious,[2] where he played a male prostitute drug dealer.[2][3]
Broadway premiere
[edit]In 2024, it was announced Clooney would make his Broadway debut starring as Edward R. Murrow in Good Night, and Good Luck.[4] Actor Clark Gregg was cast as Don Hollenbeck, Edward R. Murrow's associate, in the 2025 production.[5] Other actors in the cast include Ilana Glazer, Paul Gross, Christopher Denham, Glenn Fleshler, and Fran Kranz.[6]
The play is scheduled to begin previews at the Winter Garden Theatre on March 12, 2025, with an opening night set for April 3. The production is currently scheduled to run through June 8.[7]
