Hamdy Fathy Abdelhalim Abdelfattah (Arabic: حمدي فتحي عبد الحليم عبد الفتاح; born 29 September 1994) is an Egyptian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Qatar Stars League club Al-Wakrah and the Egypt national team.[3] He is considered to be a deep-lying playmaker capable of directing gameplay through short and calm passes, exceptional positioning, and his singular reading of the game in the middle of the park.
International career
[edit]On 14 October 2019, Fathy made his international debut and scored the only goal of the match in a 1–0 win against Botswana.[4] Hamdy featured in the 2021 AFCON final match against Senegal.[5]
