The Interton Video 2000 is a dedicated first-generation home video game console released in 1975 by Interton in Germany and licensed by Philips (Magnavox).[1][2][3] The console turns itself on automatically when a cartridge is inserted.[1]

The Interton Video 2000 contains 14 chips, making it relatively advanced for its time. It was followed by the Interton Video 2400 in 1976.

History

[edit]

Based in Cologne, Germany, Interton was founded in 1962 by brothers Hellmuth Türk and Hans-Herbert Türk. The company specialized in producing hearing aids but began expanding into electronics in the 1970s. After getting a license from Magnavox to produce a console, the company released the Interton Video 2000 in 1975.[4]

Games
