Jameson Chandler Hannah (born August 10, 1997) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Colorado Rockies organization.
Amateur career
[edit]Hannah attended Flower Mound High School, in Flower Mound, Texas.[1] He attended Dallas Baptist University and played college baseball for the Patriots.[2] In 2017, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League.[3] As a junior in 2018, he batted .363 with six home runs and 48 RBI over 59 games.[4]
Professional career
[edit]Oakland Athletics
[edit]Hannah was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the second round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft.[5] Hannah played for the Vermont Lake Monsters in 2018, hitting .279/.347/.384 with one home run and 10 RBI over 23 games.[2] He opened the 2019 season with the Stockton Ports and slashed .283/.334/.381 with two home runs and 31 RBI in 92 games.[6]
Cincinnati Reds
[edit]On July 31, 2019, Hannah was traded by the Athletics to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for Tanner Roark.[7] He was assigned to the Daytona Tortugas, but played in only 18 games due to injury. Hannah did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.[8]
Colorado Rockies
[edit]On November 25, 2020, Hannah was traded by the Reds along with Robert Stephenson to the Colorado Rockies in exchange for Jeff Hoffman and Case Williams.[9] He spent the 2021 season with the Hartford Yard Goats, slashing .255/.324/.351 with three home runs, 17 RBI, and 11 stolen bases.[10]
Hannah returned to Hartford in 2022, playing in 29 games and hitting .273/.351/.374 with one home run, four RBI, and seven stolen bases.[11] He split the 2023 campaign between the rookie–level Arizona Complex League Rockies and Triple–A Albuquerque Isotopes. In 27 games for the two affiliates, Hannah accumulated a .337/.425/.497 batting line with one home run, 17 RBI, and 6 stolen bases.[12]
