Lindsey E. Tichenor (born January 29, 1977) is an American politician from Kentucky. A member of the Republican Party, she has represented District 6 in the Kentucky Senate since January 1, 2023.[1] Tichenor works as a real estate agent and resides in Smithfield, Kentucky.[2]
Biography
[edit]Lindsey Tichenor was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She has worked as a real estate agent at Covenant Realty, LLC, and held a senior sales leadership title at Arbonne International, a multi-level marketing company, and participated in international outreach work with Water Step/Edge Outreach. She has served in local Republican Party roles in Oldham County, including education and district chair, and is a member of the Oldham County Republican Women's Club.[3]
Political career

[edit]In 2022, Tichenor won the Republican nomination, defeating Bill Ferko in the primary with 54% of the vote.[4][5] In the general election, she won the general election against Democratic write-in candidate Brian Easley, receiving 94.5% of the vote.[6]
Tichenor has announced her intention to run for re-election in 2026.[7]

[edit]During her time in the Senate, Tichenor has sponsored several bills, including:
- KY SB60: An act allowing citizens to sue the government if they believed that their religious practices were restricted.[8]
- KY SJR55: A joint resolution directing public postsecondary institutions to combat antisemitism.
- KY SB151: An act prohibiting the use of state tax dollars to compensate undocumented immigrants.
- KY SB67: A proposal to amend the Constitution of Kentucky to establish tax exemptions for homeowners aged 65 and older.
- KY SB19: A bill requiring moments of silence and reflection in schools.
- KY SB240: Legislation on ibogaine research as a treatment for opioid dependence.
- KY SB258: A bill defining Kentucky residency in the postsecondary education system.
