MR 41

The MR 41 is a French-built boosted fission bomb to be launched with the M1 and M2 missiles in Redoutable class ballistic missile submarines.

Blast yield500 kilotons

It had a yield of 500 kilotons and was boosted fission warhead based on highly enriched uranium combined with deuterium and tritium.

This warhead tested in 15 July 1968 and 12 June 1971 with equivalent 450 kiloton in each test.

Entering service in 1972 it was withdrawn from service by the end of 1979, being replaced by TN 60 warheads.

MR-41 warhead produced to arm 3 Le Redeoutable class SSBN with 16 M-1 and M-2 SLBM each (Le redoutable,Le Foudroyant,and Le teribble).
