Min Shwe Kyu

The Queen of King Pagan Min (birth name - Min Shwe Kyu) was born in 1820 AD. Her father was the First Makkhara Prince, a son of King Bodawpaya, and her mother was Princess Takaung Kyanjap, a daughter of King Bodawpaya. In 1838, she was married to the Prince of Pagan. When King Pagan ascended the throne, she was crowned as Thiri Tiloka Maha Ratna Devi. She was over 65 years old at the time. She was permitted to reside in Mandalay with the status of a first-class royal and received a political pension of Rs. 150 and a housing allowance of Rs. 60 starting from January 1, 1886. She passed away on July 23, 1892, at the South Win Mansion, located west of Mingalar Market in Mandalay.[1]
