Mithamain Cantonment
Appearance
Mithamain Cantonment is a Bangladeshi military cantonment in Mithamain, Kishoreganj.[1]
History
[edit]This cantonment was named after the former President of Bangladesh Mohammad Abdul Hamid. On 28 February 2023, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the newly built cantonment.[2] The Cantonment is built on 275 acres of land[3] beside the Ghorauta River.[4]
After the fall of Prime minister Sheikh Hasina's administration following a mass uprising in July-August 2024, the cantonment was renamed to "Mithamain Cantonment".[5][6]
