Early life and education

[edit]

In 2003, Makubalo enrolled at Edenvale High School, where he participated in various sports, including soccer, rugby, athletics and cricket.[3]

After completing high school, Makubalo joined Talent International, where he studied Presenting and Acting, later serving as a part-time mentor and coach. In 2009, he enrolled at Damelin, Bramley, where he studied contemporary music.[4]

Career

[edit]

Music

[edit]

After studying contemporary music at Damelin, Makubalo began his musical career with Baainar Records. He began releasing music through Baainar Records, including "Ndiyindoda", "Move", "Ntombi Ethandwayo", "Crazy", and "Qina".[5]

In 2015, he joined Afrotainment and released an album on October 31, 2016, which featured 14 tracks including "What Have You Done", "Children", "Miss Me", and "Give and Take My Piano".[6][3]

In 2019, he released the single "Ndakwenza Ntoni", followed by "Camagu" in 2020, a collaboration with Mobi Dixon.[6][3]

Acting

[edit]

In 2010, Makubalo auditioned for the role of Nicolus but was unsuccessful due to his limited proficiency in Tswana.

In 2011, he appeared on Mino Mania as a singer in a one-off role. That same year, he joined the cast of Generations as MJ Memela.[3] He went on to appear in other series such as Z'bondiwe (seasons 1–3) as Ntando Mabatha in 2015,[7] and later became a host of All Access Mzansi (season 10) alongside Mbali Nkosi.[6]

In April 2022, he was announced as the host of Tropika Island of Treasure All Stars.[8]
