National Fire and Rescue Administration (国家消防救援局) (NRFA),[1] is an agency under the ministry of emergency management which oversees the China Fire and Rescue (国家综合性消防救援队伍), China's firefighter force. It is the successor to the Ministry of Emergency Management Fire and Rescue Bureau [zh] and Ministry of Emergency Management Forest Fire Bureau [zh], who were previously in charge of overseeing Firefighting in Cities and Forests respectively.[2]

History

On January 6, 2023, the National Fire and Rescue Administration was founded when the Ministry of Emergency Management Fire and Rescue Bureau [zh] and Ministry of Emergency Management Forest Fire Bureau [zh] were merged.[2]

Additionally, there is the National Fire and Rescue Administration Mobile Detachment [zh], the National Fire and Rescue Administration Daqing Aerial Rescue Detachment [zh] and National Fire and Rescue Administration Kunming Aerial Rescue Detachment [zh]. They operate Z-8 helicopters.[11][12][13]
