Nikolaos Stamatonikolos (Greek: Νικόλαος Σταματονικολός, born 28 February 2003) is a Greek long jumper, who is most known for competing in the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships and the 2023 European Athletics U23 Championships Men's long jumping compatitions.[1][2]
Career
[edit]He won the silver medal in the Balkan Athletics U20 Championships.[3][4][5][6] Also in 2022 he finished 9th in the qualification rounds and 12th in the finals for the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships – Men's long jump in August.[7][8][9][10] In an interview with Petros Harizaklis (Greek: Πέτρο Χαριζακλή) of Metrosport he said "Talented, kind and confident. The Greek athlete of length, Nikos Stamatonikos, comes from a full season in 2022".[8]
And in the 2023 European Athletics U23 Championships – Men's long jump in the qualification rounds he was 16th in July.[11][12][13] Also in the Panhellenic Men in Close Indoor Championship 2023 and the Panhellenic Athletics Championship 2023 long jumping, he got a silver medal in both. Also in the Piraeus Street Long Jump of 2023 he was 6th.[14] And in the Venizelia Chania International 2023 athletics triple jump, he won the bronze medal.[15]
And in the "2024 TSATOUMAS STREET LONG JUMP" in Kalakata, he was 8th.[16][17] Also in the 2024 Panhellenic Men Athletics Indoor Championships, he got a silver medal.
Personal life
[edit]He is from from Ilioupoli.[5] And also has a brother Andreas Stamatonikolos.[citation needed]
