Production
[edit]The boat was built by Ranger Yachts in the United States, starting in 1977, but is now out of production.[1][4][5]
Design
[edit]The Ranger 30 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. It has a masthead sloop rig, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder and a fixed fin keel. It displaces 10,500 lb (4,763 kg) and carries 4,300 lb (1,950 kg) of ballast. The boat has a draft of 5.50 ft (1.68 m) with the standard keel.[1][2][4]
The boat is fitted with a Universal Atomic 4 gasoline engine.[1][4]
The boat has a PHRF racing average handicap of 174 with a high of 185 and low of 168. It has a hull speed of 6.76 kn (12.52 km/h).[2][4]
