Estimated to be around 1,500 years old, it is traditionally believed to be the site where the Islamic prophet Muhammad rested during a caravan journey to Syria with his uncle Abu Talib. According to Islamic tradition, the Christian monk Bahira met Muhammad at this location and recognized signs of his future prophethood.[1][2][3]
