Satyadeo Prasad Singh

Satyadeo Prasad Singh is an Indian politician. He has been MLA from Bihar for more than a decade from Goreyakothi in 2015 and from Basantpur in 2000 and 2005.[1] He is a JP Senani. He is contesting Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections from 1985. He is a senior leader of Janata Dal United and said to be very close to Nitish Kumar.

Early life

Singh was born on 1 November 1965 in Village Kauriya of District Siwan, Bihar. His father Shivpujan Singh was a teacher. Satyadeo belongs to Rajput caste.

He has earned a degree in Physics from V.V. Muzaffarpur Jagdam College Chapra. He married Usha Devi in 2003 and the couple have two children.

Political career

Mr.Singh belongs to a socialist class of politicians. He is a JP Senani. Singh was offered ticket in 1980 but he denied because of his age as his age was less than 25. Singh contested first time in 1985 from Basantpur Constituency of Siwan on ticket of BJP.

He lost with a very less margin from Basantpur Constituency in the general elections of 1985, 1990 and 1995. He consicutively lost three elections on BJP Ticket.

He again got the ticket for the fourth time and contested in year 2000 and he won by defeating his rival Manik Chand Ray of RJD. His political career was very tough because he was not from a family having any political background. He again continuously lost both elections in 2005.

In 2010 his constituency Basantpur was merged in Goreyakothi Constituency. In 2010 Elections BJP denied him ticket and he contested as an independent candidate from Goreyakothi and secured 12000 votes but lost the election.

In 2015 Mr.Singh got the ticket of RJD from Goreyakothi and he won by defeating the candidate of BJP.

In 2020 RJD denied him ticket and he contested as a candidate of RLSP but he lost.

2000 elections

Satyadeo Prasad Singh of BJP defeated Manik Chandra Roy of RJD by 3000 votes in the 2000 assembly elections.

2015 elections

Satyadeo Prasad Singh of RJD defeated Devesh Kaant Singh of BJP by 7,000 votes in the 2015 assembly election. Siwan.[2][3][4]
