The Swayambhu Sri Abhista Gnana Ganapathi Temple (SSAGG Temple) is a Ganapathi temple located in Mayuri Greenland, Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, India.[1]

Swayambhu Sri Abhista Gnana Ganapathi Deity

[edit]

The presiding deity of the temple, Swayambhu Sri Abhista Gnana Ganapathi, is a self-manifested idol that was discovered on 18th October, 2002. Known as Swayam Vriddhi Ganapathi, the deity is believed to be self-growing since its discovery.[citation needed]

The temple, located in Mayuri Greenland, Kurnool, was constructed by the Jampala Family under the management of the Jampala Abhinay Charitable Trust (JACT). The trust was founded by J. Lakshmi Kanthi and J. Madhusudhan Rao, who are also the temple’s trustees.[2]

History

[edit]
SSAGG Temple

According to the temple's trust, the idol was discovered by Abhinai Jampala in Hyderabad.[citation needed] The stone, resembling the form of Lord Ganapathi, was worshipped by Abhinai.[citation needed] After his passing, his parents formed the Jampala Abhinai Charitable Trust and constructed a temple in his memory.[citation needed] The idol, discovered by Abhinai in 2002, remains the main deity in the temple.[citation needed]

The Vigraha Prathishta (idol installation ceremony) was performed between the 22nd and 24th of August, 2013. Since then, the temple has conducted an annual Varshika Brahmotsavam on 18th October. Devotees believe their prayers to the deity are often fulfilled.[2]

Location
