Mill workers

Did the linen mill workers also go out on strike?--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 14:17, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently not. According to "Linen+workers,+who+could+easily+be" this, there was hardly any unionisation in the mills at the time, although this notes linen workers demonstrated "against blackleg labour". I'm sure that the second source, in particular, would mention any strike. Warofdreams talk 15:45, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't think they did. From what I have read regarding the 1907 strike, the only female workers who went on strike were those from Gallaher's Tobacco Factory. It wouldn't have been practical for the female linen mill workers to have walked out considering they were the sole breadwinners whilst their husbands, sons, brothers, and fathers were all on strike.
