[edit]This article seems a bit sloppy and bias
Why isn't the above comment signed?
[edit]Can't tell where it came from, but I agree with it.

outdated and BLP status
[edit]The article is outdated, now; the lede was revised after November 30, 2014 case outcome, but the rest is written as if the case was outstanding. Also there is Biography of Living Persons issues with this, I believe. The article is linked by hatnotes from Grace Huang and Matthew Huang articles about different unrelated persons; this article is the article about Matthew and Grace Huang, so it should be treated as a BLP. Tagged the article with {{update}} and added WikiProject Biography with status living=yes here. Hope this brings some attention here. --doncram 21:40, 17 January 2015 (UTC)
Blatant POV
[edit]For the most part, this article is written in an argumentative tone rather than an encyclopedic one. It is rife with weasel words, loaded language, puffery, POV statements, original research, unreferenced statements and unreliable sources. I will tag accordingly. My problems, specifically, in a few short examples:
- Weasel words - Example: "highly regarded pediatric specialist"
- Puffery - Example: "However, friends of the family in Qatar have come forward to praise Matthew and Grace’s parenting skills and the way they care for and love their children."
- POV - The 'forensic evidence' and 'trial' sections are the worst in this regard. Example: "Despite lacking this essential evidence for pursuing murder charges, the prosecutor insists that the parents intentionally harmed their daughter."
- OR - Once again, the 'forensic evidence' and 'trial' sections contain OR. Example: "The travel ban went against the precedent set in the Villagio Mall fire..." The reference to this is an article on the Villagio fire and (obviously) makes no mention of this case.
- Unreferenced statements
- Unreliable sources - I could only find one; an advocacy website: Freemattandgrace.com.
Other outstanding issues: the detainment section seems to be outdated ("If convicted, they could face the death sentence, although Qatar has maintained a moratorium on actual executions for more than a decade"). There may be some irrelevant details, i.e. Matthew Huang's educational qualifications. I am also not sure if the 'Petition to Qatar' section is notable. It is currently unreferenced and actually has an external link to the petition itself.
It would take a massive amount of time and effort to make this article encyclopedic. I may try to find time in the next week to remedy some of the more obvious issues, provided there are no objections or misinterpretations on my part. Elspamo4 (talk) 23:20, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
