Notability - for ease of demonstration
[edit]As a fairly marginal AfC case in terms of notability provided in-article, I suspect it is probably worthwhile indicating the more reliable Sig Cov sources. Given their substantiveness, I suspect there are probably additional worthwhile sources that could be sought out.
- Wired talking about Army Portal
- WashingtonPost on alternative to Silicon Valley, using Appian as an example
- PCMag on what they do (Little less trustworthy via Appian involvement)

COI edit requests
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hello, my contributions are made on behalf and in consultation with Appian. Due to my COI, I won’t be editing the article directly, and I’d like to request some edits to this page:
Intro
[edit]- In the first sentence, replacing
Tysons
withMcLean[1]
- Adding this sentence to the end of the second paragraph:
Its Low-Code Automation Platform enables businesses to create apps using little or no code.[2][3]
History
[edit]- After the first sentence, add:
Matt Calkins is the CEO.[1]
- After the 2004 line, add:
In 2010, Appian Cloud was accredited with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) low-level security by the U.S. Education Department. In 2013, it received FISMA Moderate Authorization and Accreditation from the General Services Administration (GSA). GSA procurement offices used Appian Cloud for acquisition planning.[4]
- After 2018 line, add:
In May 2019, Appian released Appian AI to allow customers to implement artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in any application built on Appian’s platform.[5]
Again, because of my COI, I won't be adding these changes myself. If it helps, I'm also happy to put together these suggested edits in sandbox to make it easier. Thank you! JMGAppian (talk) 00:31, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- Reasonable so added.PainProf (talk) 05:42, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
- @PainProf: Thank you so much for your help! JMGAppian (talk) 20:20, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
New COI Edit Requests
[edit]Update
[edit]The original edit requests below have been implemented (very much appreciate all of the help!), but I'm leaving the edit request tag open to help address some minor formatting issues as a result of the those implemented edits. See thread at the bottom for the original request.
History
[edit]- Remove the duplicate "In 2018" from "In 2018, In 2018, Appian moved its headquarters to Tysons, Virginia."
- In the last paragraph, replace the following:
In March, the company launched a health management app to help other businesses track workforce health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, by collecting information from employees and storing it in a HIPAA-compliant cloud.[6]hat app is called COVID-19 Response Management.[7][8]
with:
In March, the company updated its platform’s AI and robotic process automation (RPA) capabilities.[9] Later in 2020, Appian launched four apps to help businesses with COVID-19-related issues.[10] The first was a health management app to help other businesses track workforce health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, by collecting information from employees and storing it in a HIPAA-compliant cloud.[11] That app is called COVID-19 Response Management.[7][12]
Additional Requests
[edit]- It would be great to add the company logo to this article. Here is a link to the logo: [1], available from [2]
- There is a page flag dating from 2018 regarding additional citations needed. The article currently has 31 references, all of which are independent, 3rd party, reliable sources. I'd like to propose that the page be reviewed and the flag removed if another editor agrees that it no longer needs additional verification.
Thank you! JMGAppian (talk) 22:21, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

- Adding this to the end of the "In 2014, Appian received $37.5 million" sentence:
which was paid out to shareholders.[16]
- After the "In 2014, Appian received" paragraph, adding:
In 2015, Ryder began using apps built by Appian to switch to paperless processing. The apps are used by customers during the checkout process and internally for truck maintenance records.[17][18]

- Hi @JMGAppian:. Thank you for using this template and waiting patiently. You stated that these edits are in consultation with Appian. Are you being paid to edit Wikipedia on their behalf? If so, you need to make this explicit in your declarations, including your user page and this talk page. Please see Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure for more information.
- Although 99.248.154.87 added the information, I also reviewed the edits and decided to revert the changes. I have added notes under each section to explain my rationale. I have also added your name to the top of this page regarding your COI. Please respond below if you have any questions or concerns. Happy editing! Z1720 (talk) 16:35, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Z1720: thank you for taking the time to review these edit requests. These requests had already been addressed, but it looks like the request tag wasn't closed which likely led to some confusion, so I apologize for that. I've updated my disclosure to clarify that I am being paid on both my user page and in my talk page disclosures moving forward, appreciate you pointing that out. I had been working on suggested edits to address the Cleanup tag and incorporated your suggestions for the Services section in those edits. If you're curious to review, I've linked the mocked up draft in the section below (COI edit requests, addressing the page flag). Again, I appreciate you taking the time to review this! COI edit requests, addressing the page flag
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hello, my contributions are paid and made on behalf of and in direct consultation with Appian Corporation. Due to my COI, I won’t be editing the article directly.
I've put together suggested edits for the page to address the recent {{Cleanup-PR}}
flag added by @DGG: and also incorporate the changes from @Z1720: during their recent review of the Services section. DGG had provided a helpful breakdown for why the flag was added on their talk page, here.
I've mocked up the changes in my sandbox and made edits from the previous version of the page so it's easier to see the edit diffs. If these changes look good, please feel free to copy directly from the sandbox version. I'm happy to discuss anything that may still be of concern. And again, I appreciate you taking the time to review and implement edit requests. Thank you! JMGAppian (talk) 15:15, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
Addressing recent edits
[edit]Added back some of the information removed by 2620:8d:8000:1028:3926:25a5:f03c:eebd. Framworks section seems fine, just need to adjust title to match the section. Sources seem to use "solutions" but sounds like a buzzwrd. Add back CEO info, has received good amt of coverage to include and is owner of almost half the shares. Fixed alphebetical order of founders based on last name which is standard. Addt'l source for Ryder info not a lack of covrage. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.72.236.60 (talk) 16:53, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
revision
[edit]You asked me to review the Appian article. I have incorporated most of your changes, and made some edits for compactness. There still seemsto be considerable duplication of referneces; I will get oti t when I can. After I do, I'll probably remove the banner. There are 3 remaining problems--how much about the CEO to incorporate, if he does not get his separate article (which I am not going to judge or review),--whether the Ryder contract is significant-- and whether to describe the firm as engaged in Enterprise software and cloud computing software. I think it's important to keep enterprise in somewhere to describe the business level being aimed at. For attribution purposes, it is necessary for you to retain your draft page. [edit]I was asked on my Talk Page to review. Appreciate the recognition and ping and made some edits. I'll do a few more. Not ready yet to remove that banner, but getting close. --FeldBum (talk) 15:42, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Hello, my contributions are made on behalf and in consultation with Appian. Due to my COI, I won’t be editing the article directly, and I’d like to request the following edits to this page.
I'd like to request a review of this article by an uninvolved editor to assess whether the {{Cleanup-PR}}
flag is still necessary on this article. The article has been significantly cleaned up since the flag's placement in October 2020. All of the changes since the flag's placement can be viewed here. If there are any additional concerns related to the {{Cleanup-PR}}
flag, I'm happy to help draft up suggestions if that's helpful. Thank you! JMGAppian (talk) 20:08, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
