Re/Merging proposal
[edit]I strongly oppose the proposed merging, on the basis that the Crossing of the Andes is of itself a major feat for both political history and military history. Furthermore, although the very Army of the Andes is obviously inseparable from that action, its history goes way beyond the crossing proper. Salut, --IANVS (talk) 13:56, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
- I also oppose it. The article does not show it yet, but the Army of the Andes took part in the attack to Lima, and was involved in the controversy for the request to go back to Argentina to fight in the Civil War, that San Martín denied. MBelgrano (talk) 14:14, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
- Ok then, those things you mention should be added to avoid future propasals and also a main article wikilink would be in place too --Jor70 (talk) 14:23, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, almost all XIX century articles about Argentina or South America need to be improved. Stubs or unwritten, languaje checking, copyedit, whole informations missing, lack of infoboxes, no references, unchecked statements... The one of Mariano Moreno even stated that Saavedra fired him from the Junta. There's work to do everywhere. MBelgrano (talk) 15:10, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
- I also oppose for the stated reasons by MBelgrano and IANVS with which I concur. -- Alexf(talk) 14:50, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Soler
[edit]San Martin was the commander of the first column and his second-in-command was Soler. Las Heras was the commander of the second column and in general perspective was San Martin's second-in-command of the whole army. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.254.117.35 (talk) 22:17, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
