Which way?
[edit]Is the civil date of January 5 covered by January 4 and 5 of the astronomical day, or by January 5 and 6 of the astronomical day? That is, is the astronomical day 12 hours slow or 12 hours fast? GBC (talk) 02:29, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
- A quote from reference 2 in the article says:
- As our readers know, the astronomical day begins at noon, twelve hours after the beginning of the civil day.
- This seems to imply that the civil date of January 5 is covered by January 4 and 5 of the astronomical day. Earendur (talk) 01:55, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
