Actually, I'm the one who put the hangon tag up, not the original author. Take a look again and see if my cleanup helped things. (It was donewhile someone put the db-bio tag on; I replaced my edits and put the db-bio and hangon tags on.) I think it's still borderline on notability, so I won't be offended either way. I think I am messing things up

[edit]

This is my first article so I hope I am not messing things up. Please advise what I can do to make the article better. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Littlemissthing (talkcontribs) 19:18, 8 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I think the concern is that the company you're writing about isn't notable enough to merit an article, and that the article may read a bit like an ad for the company and not an encyclopedic article. I don't think that it is out-and-out spam, but you might want to put some additional sources up that prove that the company is worth an article. Click on the links in my message to see what Wikipedia guidelines are on each issue. I'm also going to put some things on your talk page with some helps on how to write a good WP article.
Your first attempt is actually pretty good, especially compared to some other first articles I've seen. Don't be discouraged. Just realized that Wikipedia editors and administrators take a dim view of something that might be considered spam or advertising, so sometimes we're a bit quick on the trigger. Read up on the stuff I talked about. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on my talk page. Realkyhick 19:46, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I originally added the db-bio template, but after reading the changes and seeing the disussion here, I've removed the db-bio and replaced it for now with a notability template. As mentioned before, this article needs a few more independent references to back up the claims on notability, plus the notability is not Asserted in the opening paragraph as it should be. I think that's the right way to go. The author is a newbie, so let's give her (I think it's "her," not "him") some time and space to beef things up. (I'm learning not to bit the newbies.) Realkyhick 20:42, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, PLEASE don't bite the noob! Thanks for all of your help. I went back and read some similar listings for other RPG publishers and emulated those. I also removed the stuff about the contests, as after thinking about it that stuff wasn't really relevent to anything. I changed the focus of the article and copied the format of similar listings, so hopefully it's all better. User:littlemissthing

Much better! Good job! I've taken down the notability tag, since I think notability within the RPG industry has been proved, at least enough for WP standards. Realkyhick 16:57, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
