Naming scheme exception

The claim in the head section that it is the "only Boeing-designed production jetliner that does not follow the 7x7 naming scheme" has no citations. A version of the claim was originally added anonymously in https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Boeing_720&oldid=828761388

I was able to find some (perhaps unreliable) secondary sources that made similar, but not identical, assertions, to the current one, usually with the a caveat similar to "to this date".

This seems like original research and trivia that does not belong in the head section.

Boeing 720-023B as a variant?

The Boeing 720-023B should be considered one of the variants despite only having one aircraft produced Sizzlepop1 (talk) 13:59, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The 023 is the customer code for American Airlines, the original operator. There were 25 720-023B, 10 converted from the base variant and 15 delivered new. The aircraft I believe is being discussed is the Pratt & Whitney engine test bed C-FETB (ex-American Airlines N7538A).
