Big clubs of Brazil

In the section "Rivals", the three main rivals of Botafogo are given, while a list of all the other large clubs from Brazil is also mentioned. This list includes Bahia, probably because it is one of the founding members of Clube dos 13. I removed Bahia, as this is not enough to classify the team as one of the big ones. Clube dos 13 has, nowadays, several other clubs that are not listed here. There are clearly 12 dominant clubs in Brazil, while to include Bahia would make fans of Coritiba, Atlético Paranaense, Sport Recife, etc to protest the inclusion of their clubs of comparable size to Bahia. Besides, the section is made for Botafogo's rivals, that are mainly the three other large clubs from Rio de Janeiro City. The mention of other national big clubs implies softer but also important rivalries, which is only true to 8 of the 9 clubs mentioned. Botafogo has no big rivalry to Bahia, and a game against them is not much different than a game against Vitória, while a game against any of the other 8, such as Cruzeiro, Palmeiras or Grêmio, has indeed a considerable degree of rivalry. 177.182.217.21 (talk) 03:48, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Botafogo beach

Jersey???

Black and white by Juventus??? One huge problem, Juventus use this jersey before 1904 (first Pink by 6 years and later pink & black by 1 year)and Botafogo is founded in 1904!!!!!!!!!!!!--186.62.157.165 (talk) 02:19, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

– The football club Botafogo qualifies for WP:PRIMARYTOPIC and WP:COMMONNAME. However, I do not know what would be an appropriate page name for the Botafogo neighborhood. Oppose - Looking at Botafogo (disambiguation) gives me a feeling that Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas is not WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, as there is a whole lot of articles that is named Botafogo. This one might be the most viewed topic, but not the primary topic. I would support moving the article about the town to Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro, but oppose moving the article about the football club. Mentoz86 (talk) 21:57, 17 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
