Inconsistent interpretations of E32
[edit]I found several forum posts that suggest that Plextor and BenQ drives interpreted E32 inconsistently. While Plextor seems to interpret C2=E22 and CU=E32 (uncorrectable), BenQ seems to interpret C2=E32. I unfortunately don't have the hardware at hand to test it myself.

Given that forum posts are insufficient as sources, I am leaving E32 out until I find definitive proof. CDVDBD 💿 📀 14:14, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
The website of qpxtool states that E31 is the same as C1 ("If more than two bytes in one block of 32 bytes are corrupted, we call it an E31 error - a C1 error.") - so the logical conclusion would be that E32 is the same as C2, whereas this post (already linked above) states "C1 = E11 + E21 + E31". It is possible that E31 automatically implies E11 and E21, and E32 automatically implies E12 and E22, so I prefer to get some kind of confirmation for this before putting it into the article. This article by CDR Info tips the balance in favour of E32 being not C2 but CU, meaning uncorrectable. It states "E32 means that there were three or more bad symbols in one block at the C2 stage, and therefore this error is not correctable.". CDVDBD 💿 📀 16:42, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
Yet another source, cdrom2go.com, states that E32 is uncorrectable (thus not C2), but also strangely states that E32 is also known as E42: "Often referred to as E32 or E42 errors, a disc's uncorrectable error count represents […]" - I can't remember ever having seen a mention of "E42" errors before.
