Rename/Rewrite
[edit]So I'm thinking since this page is almost entirely about feral cats in Australia, as opposed to all cats in Australia, why not rename this to Feral Cats in Australia? I'd suggest rewriting the intro section as well. Howicus (talk) 16:31, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- There may eventually be a need for a Feral cats in Australia article but as can be seen from the current content it cannot be renamed since it is not only about feral cats. And note that it needs expanding as indicated. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 16:45, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- I also strongly believe that this page should be renamed "Feral Cats in Australia" or that there should be another wiki named "Feral Cats in Australia". We currently have these wikis specifically for feral species in Australia: Feral donkeys in Australia, Feral foxes in Australia, Feral goats in Australia, Australian feral camel, Rabbits in Australia and Cane toads in Australia. The feral cat is one of the biggest environmental threats in Australia, it should have it's own wiki, just as these other feral animals do.
- Also, I have removed the "WikiProject Cats" as this directs all the cat fanciers from all over the world to edit this. Not a good idea if we want a non-POV edit, especially seeing there is nothing really positive to mention about feral cats in Australia. Kelly2357 (talk) 03:07, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
- I support having a Feral cats in Australia article but at this stage of development of the Cats in Australia article it seems there is not enough info to have a separate article. In the meantime I will set up Feral cats in Australia as a redir. I would like to see the Cats in Australia article built up to something like the Cats in New Zealand article (the topic is similar). -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 21:38, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
- That is a good idea Alan_Liefting, I hope to contribute to it at some stage. With the massive amount of scientific information available, I could write an essay on feral cats in Australia! Kelly2357 (talk) 22:31, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
