DSM (original edition)
[edit]The article claims that schizophrenic reaction childhood type originated in the DSM-II. That is incorrect. It originated in the original DSM.[1]https://www.turkpsikiyatri.org/arsiv/dsm-1952.pdf
In both DSMs, adult autism is, however oddly, called schizophrenic reaction paranoid type.
Also, as seen in the Statistical Manual for the Use of Institutions for the Insane https://www.google.com/books/edition/Statistical_Manual_for_the_Use_of_Instit/AjFNAAAAMAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1 - dementia praecox, the earlier term for schizophrenia, was used for autism as far back as 1918. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Markalanfoster (talk • contribs) 23:45, 19 July 2024 (UTC) Mark A.
